THEY DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM BUT IN THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD….
The Emmaus encounter
Dear friends in Christ, on this third Sunday following Easter, the resurrection of the Lord, central to our reading is the invitation to recognize the Lord in our lives and particular in His abiding presence through the Eucharist. Verily, The Lord is near to those who seek Him and desire to live in His presence, doing His will. The Emmaus incident is the story of a God who will not abandon us when we are hurt and disappointed. Certain life situation hits us hard to question the place of God in our lives. We often ask God where are you? We wallow in disbelief and despair forgetting that he is ever near to us than ever before.
