ABUJA ARCHDIOCESE CELEBRATES HER CHIEF SHEPHERD AMIDTS COVID-19

His Grace, Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama

Recall that, after 29 years of meritorious and sacrificial service to God and His people in the Abuja Ecclesiastical Province, His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan (Emeritus Archbishop of Abuja) formerly retired as the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Abuja, following the acceptance of his retirement letter and request by His Holiness, Pope Francis, as Archbishop of Abuja, Nigeria, having attained the canonical age of 75.  To this effect, the Holy Father Pope Francis appointed as Coadjutor Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria, H.E. Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, on 11th March, 20`9, who was up until taking possession of Abuja Archdiocese and her suffragan diocese, the Archbishop of Jos and her Metropolitan See.
