AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA) ON RECENT KILLINGS OF PEACEFUL PROTESTING YOUTHS BY THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT

Dear President Donald Trump,

Long may you reign!

I love and respect you so much. For your sake, ISIS is becoming history. For your sake China keeps failing in recolonizing Africa. For you, lives of the unborn are protected in the US. For your sake, the most powerful country of the world’s economy has grown tremendously.

Indeed, you’re a great president.

I know your campaigns for second term bid has made you so busy. But Mr President, the most populous black nation on earth (Nigeria) is on fire. Please come to the aid of Nigeria, and free us from our evil government led by the Jihadist, Buhari. They have turned us into body bags.

Below is an article on the recent gory incident perpetuated by Nigerian government on her peaceful protesting youths:

*UNDER BUHARI’S WATCH, NIGERIA BLEEDS*

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to announce the Lord’s year of favour” (Luke 4:18-19).

Jesus Christ came for the oppressed, and for the oppressed, He died and claimed victory over the cross and grave. Thus, as a pastor of souls, a follower of Master Jesus, I must follow His footsteps.

“Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world” (Chinua Achebe).

Never in Nigerian’s Democratic history have we had it this gory. Peaceful protesters have been turned into body bags. Nigeria is bleeding, and the ones making it to bleed are the same governments elected by the same innocent/peaceful Nigerians now turned body bags to watch over them.

As the peaceful protest enters its second week with every attempt by the governments in the guise of fake dialogues that are never utilized, they have decided to unleash violence on the peaceful protesters. Should they allow the protests to enter its 30th day, according to the international code on protests, the United Nations would intervene. Having discovered that their tactics have failed, they have now engaged thugs and military personnel to unleash violence in a democratic nation.

Thus, in broad daylight, thugs are seen in governments convoy attacking peaceful protesters. In broad daylight, thugs are seen with policemen wreaking havoc on peaceful protesters. As if that is not enough, just this evening (October 20th, 2020), in the Lekki area of Lagos, soldiers were seen shooting at peaceful protesters. A continuation of what they did on October 19th, 2020, in the Auchi area of Edo State.

Fellow Nigerians, and by extension International Community, and in particular, the great president of the USA, this has become the state of a nation called Nigeria, under a democratically elected government.

In the North, beginning from the nation’s capital, Abuja, to Niger, Kano, Nasarawa, Kaduna, etc, the northern elites have sent out their thugs against peaceful protesters. Imagine a so-called self-acclaimed indigenous people of Abuja, whose poor representation in government at all levels have seen to their endless lamentations of neglect, have suddenly come together to battle peaceful protesters.

With the unfolding gory incidents, I see ethnic/tribal war looming. And to prevent this from happening, the global indifference towards Africa by the so-called first world nations must stop. The International community should stop being mute about the escalating tension caused by Nigerian governments. Nigeria has today turned into a military dictatorship in a democracy.

Let me, therefore, make this clear to them, their supporters, thugs, and chicken military personnel whose underfunding have seen them been killed in their numbers by unschooled Boko Haram terrorists:

It is very obvious that you’re the supporters and partners in crime against humanity in a democracy now turned autocracy, dictatorship, impoverishment of masses in Africa by your useless puppet colonial imposed rulers who have refused to go away after 60years.

We may not get all we want in a day, not even the #ENDSARS, since you have all decided to turn us all into body bags, but the conscious awareness that the youths have brought to the limelight would never be erased in history. It would stand the test of time, and generations unborn would come to know that indeed, there was, “SOMETIME IN OCTOBER 2020,” when the youths rose and fought with their lives for a better Nigeria.

Let it be known to the whole world that there was a day Nigerian governments have come to know those good citizens are not fools anymore. And contrary to the insensitive opinion of the man whose Khaki is hidden under his Agbada, our youths are not lazy anyway. We are indeed, hardworking and resilient. And honestly, “Our mumu don do.” This is no longer business as usual when promises are never fulfilled or taken seriously.

Fellow resilient youths, do not relent in this self-consciousness so that in the nearest future, we can show them the way out through our electoral powers and map out a positive roadmap for a better Nigeria.

Do not give up, because, in the words of the great African Reggae icon of blessed memory, Lucky Dube, they can kill all the prophets of Reggae, but they cannot stop reggae. Posterity would celebrate your heroism.

I’m happy that for once, notable international figures have come to identify with the genuine quests of the teaming youths.

#ENDSARS is but a logo. Something must trigger something. Enough is enough; Nigeria does not belong to a miniature of so-called elites, but for us all.

Their so-called supporters, thugs, and chicken military should go to Mali, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Rwanda, Iran, Hong Kong, etc. I don’t want to mention other Asian, European, or American continents and ask what a protest of this nature has resulted in at the end of the day.

They seem not to know the implications of protests in International space.

Like I keep saying, for once, Nigerian youths have come to know that our misguided colonial puppets have traded with our common patrimony for too long. If out of the 70% of the youths that constitute the electoral population, 50% put heads together come 2023, with maybe 10% addition of sympathizing elders, a better future may be steering at us in the face.

We would get there someday; never again would our useless old men and women in government take us for fools as they have done in the last decades.

Revolutions often do not take place with a single aim in view, but there must be a code to push the drive. For our youths, it is the code, #ENDSARS.

Finally, I sincerely call on the peaceful protesters to retreat and review their tactics so that their good intentions are not misinterpreted, which is the aim that the unfortunate governments want to achieve. Let us give peace a chance, return to the drawing board, and use the power of social media to build a formidable force that would bring the needed change come 2023.

Indeed, the clock is ticking #2023, and together can we achieve our aim of a better Nigeria.

May God rest the souls of all who have lost their lives in this protest. Amen. They are indeed, the real heroes!
