POPE FRANCIS HONOURS DRIVER, CATECHIST AND 18 OTHERS AS PAPAL KNIGHTS, DAMES AND MEDALISTS – ABUJA ARCHDIOCESE.
Recall that, on the 6th of March, 2020, the Holy Father, Pope Francis through His Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Antonio Filipazzi granted the request of His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the Emeritus Archbishop of Abuja to grant papal honours to well deserving members of the Abuja Archdiocesan ecclesial family.
It was with great delight and joy today as the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja invests her 20 Honorees with Papal honours.
This includes a Catechist, Sir Sylvester Datoegoem Dalok who was/is a founding and pioneer Apostle of the Church in the Archdiocese. Similarly, the awardees included Sir Joseph Aboiralor who served the Church as a Driver of His Eminence, Cardinal Onaiyekan for nearly three decades.
The honour came in four categorization: Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medals, Knights and Dames of St. Sylvester the Pope (KSS), Knights and Dames of St. Gregory the Great (KSG) and the Knight Commander of St. Gregory the Great (KCSG). We congratulate them and wish them every graces and we thank them for their services to the Church of God in the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja for which they have received this papal honours and recognitions. May they remain committed and ever resolute to serve even better than ever before in advancing the Kingdom of God.
